Tim Burton is known for his gothic fantasy and horror films (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands,...) The film was met with a generally positive critical response. Xenogenesis is a 1978 science fiction short film that was the directorial debut of James Cameron. A woman and an engineered man are sent in a gigantic sentient starship to search space for a place to start a new life cycle. My Best Friend's Birthday is a partially lost black-and-white amateur film directed, edited, co-written, co-produced and starring Quentin Tarantino.
